Graduate Fashion Week

It has taken me a while to write up my reviews of GFW, but let me tell you - it has been worth the wait.

For starters, let me just express my sheer delight at being able to attend such a brilliant event on the fashion calendar, it really does show how the fashion industry are keen to support emerging new fabulous talent, and fabulous it was!
More reviews will come on each show, but I am dying to exclaim about one individual's collection in particular; Northumbria University's very own RIO MADDISON.

The collection reminded me of a young version of German duo FelderFelder, the creativity was genius and there was a beautiful use of studs which reminded me of a punk/glam asthetic. The collection as a whole worked divine together, but the looks individually were very strong and powerful. Unfortunately I have only been able to get hold on one picture so far, but I am on the hunt for more of this fabulous work.

Other designers I adored from Northumbria were Marie McDonagh, Bethany Severs for elegant and sophisticated designs, Holly Storer for fabulous dresses, Charlotte Levy for incredibly well designed headpieces and Amber Little for tongue in cheek ghetto.
One of Rio Maddison's beautiful all in one designs. The studded waist piece actually rotated, genius!
