BB and her FluroMonks

"Through her multifaceted work, Blandine Bardeau explores the boundaries between fashion and fine art, focusing on creating her own worlds and stories. Colourful mixtures of semi-human/ semi-animal baboonesque creatures populate her drawings, clothes and jewellery, her art carries the modern funky spirits of a colourful imagination, questioning the boundaries that prevent us from being ourselves. "

Here is her 'Fluorescent Monkeys' collection, the first solo exhibition by the French artist/designer.

Her drawings will be exhibited in Paris on the 24th of March 2010 in "Garage de Turenne" as part of an exhibition organized by Converse featuring 8 young artists from all over the world.

BURB

All I want
A close second
Very good contenders
I'd settle for any.

Happy its sunny? Yes. Happy for the winter winds? With these coats? bring it.
"Woah. Don't wanna get in a fight with you tonight"

Is what my friends tend to say a lot when I decide to wack out the "largest ring in the world" aka my boulder. Statement/Costume jewellery has also never failed to keep me happy.
Top three of the moment are all from Pebble. They are my new jewellery loves.

Black Pearl

I've always had a bit of a thing for jewellery. I once went through a rather bizarre phase of what can only be described as trying to shove as many bangles/bracelets/bands on my arms as humanly possible. You could hear me jangle a mile off. I was particularily a fan of gold jewellery, so much so I could imagine the only other person who would have benefitted from borrowing off me would have been Mr. T.

Anyway I like to think this is fine, as experimenting with jewellery is about as daring as wearing kitten heels to the gym. Or something similar.
Here is a lovely little collection of jewellery from Black Pearl, it's a little boutique off Carnaby Street but you can also buy online. Relatively cheap, cute and yes, gold.

Temptation greets you like your naughty mate

"I can resist everything. Except temptation."

I don't get temptation. What exactly is temptation? Something you want? Yes. But I want a lot of things, like a trip to Alton Towers, but it's not exactly 'temptation' is it. It seems to be associated with some wierd type of taboo that makes anything tempting a bit naughty or wrong. But, is it?

Temptation is often used in sexual references, usually about wanting somebody, normally an affair type situation, a bit off limits. But it just sounds a bit cheesy.  Especially as the book I'm reading at the moment has a lapdancer called Temptation, and a porno we all watched at uni once had a porn star slash really bad actress called Temptation. This makes it tacky.

Who ever even uses that word? I normally hear my mother say it every once in a while whilst staring at a doughnut..."Oooh I'm tempted" or if you offer a night out to somebody who has work at 9am.."Oh that's sooooooooooooooooo tempting"
Again, what exactly is so tempting but not allowed? Surely eat the doughnut, go on the night out. It's not illegal. Being tempted by something is like being coaxed in the wrong direction, but there's nothing wrong with either of those scenarios.

Except a bit of murder, obviously. You can't really say "Sorry, I was just really tempted"

Basically, I just think it's a bit mysterious. Apparently if you're tempted it will lead you inevitably to an act that will lead you to feel guilty. You'll have a lack of self control throught the completion of the tempting act. However bad. It also makes things seem more attractive if you're tempted by it.

You should be tempted. Life is too short. And if you are tempted then you probably shouldn't do it, according to society. So it's better to never be tempted? Wrong. Then you'd just be really boring. People like being drawn to things, because although people think they're all really amazing and cool, if you never felt attracted to anything, or allured by something then what would there be to do?

If food didn't take your fancy? Or you weren't enticed to want to talk to people? Or had no desire to work?
Exactly. So for now just remain tempted by things, I guess.

For now, here's a girl who I think is looking pretty tempting. Apparently.
