Alix Malka

I recently wrote an article for my university magazine on this incredible fashion photographer, and felt the need to share more images.

His work is extremely hyper-glamorous and I adore each photograph he produces.

I think the pictures can really speak for themselves here, there are literally jaw-dropping. Not much is know about the photographer himself, however he has worked for Vogue magazine and Flair.

Fashion photographers have always interested me, as I think that to be able to capture a moment of pure beauty is a real talent. There are so many picture I wanted to put on, but if you google his work you will see the bigger picture, and fall in love with him just like I have!

Masculine Tailoring

For my final Fashion Styling project, I am doing a photoshoot on Masculine Tailoring. I have always been inspired by the androgenous look and think that challenging sex roles is always an interesting topic.

My shoot's theme is really analysising the representation of women dressing in Masculine attire.
From the Bloomer's of the 1920s to Yves Saint Laurent's le smoking tuxedo of the 1980s, power dressing for women has impacted the social outlook of femininity.
Thanks to fashion it has risen immensly over the years.
Here are some fantastic androgeonous and masculine looks on women over the years...

Topshop

I seem to have a love/hate relationship with this booming high-street retailer. Sometimes I will walk in and adore everything in there...the tulip skirts, the chunky shoes and the gold accessories. Then at other times I will walk in and see regurgitated and overprices styles.

Does anyone remember when it was less than £50 for a skirt in Topshop?! (I also blame this on the fact I am a jobless shopaholic student)

However, I've just been browsing the website, and with so much choice to offer, I actually conjured back up the lost love for Topshop. My favourite item in there at the moment is a gorgeous navy ruffled playsuit (I've developed a slight obsession about them this summer) for only £45...I would love to stay and add more items to my wishlist but I'm off to go and buy this before they run out...it will be perfect for festival goings this year!!

Pretty Green

"Clothes and music are my passion. I'm not here to rip anyone off and I'm not doing it for the money either. I'm doing it cuz there's a lack of stuff out there of the things I would wear"

I was rather shocked when I found out that the frontman of one of my all time favourite bands, decided to create a clothing line. Liam Gallagher, best known for being one half of the eccentric rock 'n' roll duo in Oasis announced his plans yesterday, and in true Gallagher fashion, he stated

"The reason I'm doing it is I like clothes. We're going to do clothes I like, if people like it cool if they don't, they don't!,"

The website 'Pretty Green' was named after a song by The Jam and Liam insists he isn't going to be putting clothes out there that he wouldn't wear himself...and as a true style icon, I don't doubt that the collection will be truly exceptional!

Although no designs have been shown to the public yet, the label assures us that it is

"up-front, straight talking, classic clothing range owned, founded and designed by Liam Gallagher. The Pretty Green team is made up of key industry professionals.

The clothing range, which is entirely 'limited edition', will include classic designs across footwear, denim, knitwear, jackets, trench coats, parkas, T-shirts, hats, scarves and accessories; all subject to Liam's final approval."
